Career- Has played in 22 games entering the 2014 season … punted 78 times for an average of 40.7 yards per punt … has recorded 19 punts inside the 20-yard line, and had 25 punts fair caught … has eight punts over 50 yards, including a long of 66.

2013- Third-team All-MIAA … Lindenwood’s Special Teams Player of the Year … appeared in eight games … finished third in the MIAA with a 42.6 punting average, and helped Lindenwood lead the MIAA with a 37.4 net punting average … ranked 12th in NCAA Division II in punting average, and helped Lindenwood rank 14th nationally in net punting average … punted 34 times on the season for 1,448 yards … had seven punts of 50 yards or longer, including a season-long of 66 against Nebraska-Kearney … had 11 punts fair caught, eight punts inside the 20-yard line, and only three touchbacks … also kicked off 14 times for a team-high 53.2 average and two touchbacks … had one tackle on kickoff coverage against Missouri S&T … helped set up Lindenwood’s game-winning touchdown against Southwest Baptist when his fourth-quarter punt pinned the Bearcats to their one-yard line, eventually leading to a short field for the Lions … named the team’s Special Teams Player of the Week against Southwest Baptist and Central Missouri … earned the team’s Blue Collar award for the week of the Missouri S&T game … named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

2012- Appeared in all 12 games … punted the ball 44 times for an average of 39.3 yards per punt … had 11 punts inside the 20-yard line and 14 punts were fair caught … had one punt over 50 yards with a season-long of 51 against Glenville State … ranked eighth in the MIAA in punting average … had a season-high eight punts against Southwest Baptist … had three punts inside the 20-yard line against Emporia State … rushed for a first down on a fourth-and-14 play from Lindenwood’s four-yard line after a bad snap in the fourth quarter of the Washburn game … named the team’s Special Teams Player of the Game against Emporia State and Washburn ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

2011- Played in two games.

Attended Saint Johns River State College.

High School:
Two-time all-county and all-region performer as a punter and kickoff specialist ... was a member of a Saint Augustine squad that made three state playoffs, including one appearance in the state championship finals ... also lettered two years in soccer.

The son of Melissa and Edwards Burns ... a criminal justice/philosophy major.
