Blaine Mueller

Blaine Mueller is in his second season in 2017-18 as an assistant coach for the Lindenwood men’s basketball team.

In 2016-17, Mueller was a part of a coaching staff that helped the Lions win 21 games, a program record for wins during its NCAA history. The Lions had two all-conference players and one MIAA all-defensive performer during the year.  He helped Lindenwood rank 33rd in NCAA Division II in scoring defense, allowing less than 70 points a game.

Prior to Lindenwood, Mueller spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach under Kevin Bavery at Middleton High School in Wisconsin. Middleton went 49-21 over those three seasons, and Mueller helped guide the Cardinals to their first conference championship in 15 years.

Mueller played for Lindenwood head coach Lance Randall when Randall was an associate head coach at Wisconson-Stevens Point in 2010-11. That team won the conference regular season and tournament championships, and made it to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

Mueller is originally from Watertown, Wis. He graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a chemistry degree, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Education.
