Ali Brems is entering her fourth season as the assistant coach of the Lindenwood softball team in 2025.
Brems led the pitching staff for the Lions that posted a team ERA of 3.55 which ranked sixth in the OVC. She also coached Second Team All-OVC selection Amanda Weyh on the mound who ended her career with numerous team records. Weyh held a 2.16 ERA which ranked fourth in the conference and had an overall record of 15-9. She threw 11 complete games during her final season while tossing six shutouts. Avery Wapp also had a 3.11 ERA in 33 appearances with a 9-12 record. The duo combined for 289 strikeouts in 2024.
In 2023, the Lions went 16-32, including an 8-15 mark against OVC competition. Lindenwood finished with a winning record at home (12-10) and swept eventual conference champion Eastern Illinois late in the year at Lou Brock Sports Complex. Irelynn West and Dallis Darnell earned all-conference honors with West being a second-team selection and Darnell being named to the all-newcomer team.Â
In her first season, Brems helped lead Lindenwood to a 35-13 record, including a 21-7 mark inside conference play. The Lions earned a bid to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional, the first in program history. .the team claimed the No. 4 seed. Lindenwood earned a notable win over No. 2 UIndy in late April, the highest-ranked victory in program history.
Brems joined the Lions after serving as an assistant coach on head coach Erin Brown's staff at Truman State from 2018-19. Aside from her main duty as the program's pitching coach, she coached the outfielders and was in charge of recruiting.
Brems joined Truman State after spending six years at Lewis, which included five as a player (one redshirt season) followed by another as a graduate assistant. As a graduate assistant, her responsibilities included instruction of pitchers and outfielders, assistance with recruiting and video analysis for film sessions. Brems also served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Kenosha Cyclones (2011-16) and accumulated over 300 hours of time per year in that role. In that time, she helped to develop fundamentals while specializing in pitching, slapping, and defense. She is also a graduate of the 2018 NCAA Women Coaches Academy class No. 46 that was held in Denver, Colo.
Prior to that, she spent her collegiate career in Romeoville, Ill. as a student-athlete from 2012-16. On the diamond, Brems was a dual threat as she did damage in both the box and the circle. She was named second-team All-GLVC East Division as a pitcher in 2013 after she turned in an ERA of 3.28 in 140.2 innings pitched, and second-team All-GLVC as a utility player in 2014.Â
Brems is a native of Kenosha, Wis. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in exercise science & psychology from Lewis in 2016, and received her Master of Arts in leadership from Truman State.
