King is entering her third season as a member of the coaching staff at Lindenwood in 2021.
She helped guide the Lions to an 11-4 record in 2020. The season was shortened, however, due to the COVID-19 outbreak,
King joined the Lions coaching staff in November of 2018. She previously served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Western Illinois.Â
King came to Lindenwood from Sauk Valley Community College, where she had been the head coach since August. With Sauk Valley, she performed all administrative duties for the program as well as organizing team travel, creating practice plans and oversaw recruiting efforts.
From 2016-18, King worked at Western Illinois as an assistant softball coach. With the Leathernecks, she helped create all the program's practice schedules, organized and operated camps and coordinated team travel.Â
As a student-athlete, King competed with Illinois-Springfield from 2014-16. At UIS, she was third-team All-GLVC and was voted team captain as a senior. In her UIS career, she boasted a career batting average of .320 with 13 home runs, 51 RBIs, a .531 slugging percentage and a .435 on base percentage.
King earned a bachelor's degree in communication from Illinois-Springfield in 2016 and a master's of recreation, parks and tourism administration from Western Illinois in 2018.Â
