Nikki Taylor is joining the Lindenwood Softball coaching staff for her second season in 2019.
Taylor graduated from Maryville University this past May after playing each of her four years with the Saints. In four seasons at the plate, Taylor hit .336 (181 hits), slugged 22 homers and a total of 77 extra-base hits, scored 120 runs, and drove in 113 herself. Her final two years in the circle proved very successful. Taylor accumulated 316.1 innings of work for a 2.14 earned run average. The righty struck out 178 batters during that stretch, while only walking 61 opposing hitters.
Taylor has been a hitting and pitching instructor for St. Charles County softball since July 2016, while also being the pitching coach for the Swedish National Team this past summer. Taylor will finish playing for the Skövde Saints of Sweden this September, where she is a pitcher and utility player.
Taylor has volunteered several hours of her time, including Gateway Green, Great Circle Edgewood Campus, Bi-State Food Pantry, and Forest Park Forever. She has also been with the St. Peters Athletic Association since 2006.
Maryville won 96 games during Taylor's time at the university, her first three seasons playing for Kelly. In 2016, the Saints won 39 games and advanced to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Final.
