Heather Hyatt

Heather Hyatt was named as head coach of the synchronized skating program in May, 2013.

She brings over 22 years of coaching experience to the position, most recently as part of the staff at the St. Peters Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Mo. since 1996, where she continues to teach private lessons, teams, and learn-to-skate classes. She led the Synchro St. Louis Diamond Edges to the 2013 Ice Skating Institute (ISI) Teen Premier National Championship April 13-14 in Blaine, Minn.

Hyatt began coaching in Atlanta, Ga. after a skating career that included competition and testing in both ISI and United States Figure Skating (USFS) events as an individual and team member. She was a USFS Double Gold Medalist and a USFS Regional, Sectional, National and National Collegiate competitor.

Hyatt has a variety of coaching experience from leading entry-level formation and USFS qualifying teams to USFS Sectional Champion and ISI National Champion teams. She has also coached USFS National teams.

She was named to the Professional Skaters Association (PSA) Honor Roll of Coaches in 2008, 2009 and 2011, won the ISI District Nine Merit Award in 2004 and 2009, and was named ISI Instructor of the Year in 2010. She served on the ISI Board of Directors before coming to Lindenwood in May, 2013.

Hyatt is a gold and synchronized skating certified ISI judge, a USFS registered coach with CER Category A compliance, a PSA member, and a member of the St. Peters (Mo.) Figure Skating Association.
