Julius Armstead is entering his second year as the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Athletic Performance Coach. Before joining the Lions, he served as an Assistant Strength Coach at Arcadia University for three years. His primary responsibility was to design and implement strength and conditioning programs for Men and Women’s Basketball and Volleyball while assisting with other teams.
Before Arcadia University, Armstead was a Volunteer Sports Performance Coach at Salisbury University, where he earned his Master of Science in Applied Health Physiology. During this time, he worked with Women’s Basketball while assisting with Cross Country, Football, Tennis, and Men’s Basketball.
Armstead also had stops at Monmouth University, Lasalle University, and Saint Joseph’s University where he served as an intern. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Rowan University. He currently holds NSCA CSCS, 3DMAPS, Certified Basketball Speed Specialist Level 1, and First Aid, CPR, and AED Certifications.
