Mike Venezia is entering his second season as the assistant coach of the Lindenwood women’s ice hockey team in 2021-22.
In 2020-21, Venezia helped coach the team to a series sweep at RIT, winning 2-0 in game one, and 5-1 in game two. Under the assistance of Venezia, Annika Asplundh earned CHA Goalie of the Week honors following the two-game series at RIT. With Venezia’s tutelage, Sierra Burt and Bailey Coyne both finished as the team leader in points with eight.
During his two-year stint as head coach of the women’s hockey program at Castleton, Venezia posted a 24-24-6 record, including a 19-9-4 mark against New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) foes. Venezia guided the Spartans to consecutive trips to the NEHC Tournament, making a run to NEHC Tournament Championship game in 2018-19. Following the 2018-19 season, Venezia earned NEHC Coach of the Year honors.
Prior to his time at Castleton, Venezia spent one year (2017-18) as a volunteer assistant coach for the Union College women's ice hockey team. Venezia also had coaching stops at Morrisville State, West Chester University, and with the Philadelphia Junior Flyers 19U and 16U teams.
