Colten Hernandez joined the Lindenwood Women’s Rugby program as an assistant coach in October 2021, bringing with him over 17 years of experience playing rugby. His passion for the sport was sparked at a young age, inspired by his older sister's involvement in the game. Determined to advance rugby in the United States, Hernandez continued his athletic journey at Lindenwood University. He remains an active player to this day, contributing to the success of the St. Louis Bombers, who clinched the 2024 USA Rugby D1 National Championship.
Since joining the coaching staff, Hernandez has been instrumental in the team's success, playing a key role in securing two USA Rugby D1 Elite National Championships (2022, 2023), a USA 7s National Championship (2022), and a CRC 7s title (2022). His contributions were also recognized as part of the coaching staff that earned the 2021-2022 SLS Coaching Staff of the Year award.
An alumnus of Lindenwood, Hernandez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance (2019) and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Leadership, set to graduate in 2025.
