Jeff Vaninger is entering his 10th season as the assistant coach of the Lindenwood women’s soccer team in 2022.

In 2021, the team fished with a 4-11-1 record, including a 4-9-1 mark inside conference play. 

In the 2020 season, Vaninger helped coach five Lions to All-Conference honors, and two student-athletes to weekly GLVC accolades. Vaninger helped lead the Lions to their first-ever appearance in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament in program history. In the classroom, the Lions collected GLVC Team Academic All-Conference honors.

In 2019, the team finished with a 7-9-1 record, including a 8-6-1 mark in the GLVC.

The Lions finished the 2018 campaign with a 7-10-2 record, including a 4-6-1 mark from within the MIAA. Lindenwood returned to the MIAA Tournament for the first time since the 2016 season.

Lindenwood played some of its best soccer of the season on its home turf at Hunter Stadium, finishing the season with a 5-5-0 record in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions won three of their final four home matches, all against MIAA foes, including a 1-0 shutout victory over Northwest Missouri during the regular-season finale.

Lindenwood had two players receive all-MIAA honors following the 2018 season. Defender Jordan Wipke was selected to the all-MIAA third-team, while Morgan Weller earned all-MIAA honorable mention status.

In 2017, Lindenwood had a 5-12-1 record and a 2-6-1 record inside the MIAA. The 2017 roster featured three players that received all-MIAA accolades. Foward Becky Roberts earned a spot on the all-MIAA second team, while both Katie Juhlin and Alaina White were selected as honorable mention all-MIAA defenders.

During his first four seasons at Lindenwood (2013-16), the Lions won a total of 30 games and advanced to the MIAA Tournament in three of the four seasons.

In 2016, Lindenwood set a records for the most wins in its NCAA era with 10. The Lions doubled their win total from the previous season, and they advanced to the semifinals of the MIAA tournament for the first time in program history. 

In 2015, Lindenwood showed a lot of improvement throughout the season and ended the season on a 5-2-1 run. In 2014, Lindenwood finished fifth in conference action with a .500 record. In his first year, Vaninger helped the Lady Lions improve by three wins, including an improvement of 4.5 wins in MIAA action. Lindenwood’s defense allowed nearly 50 percent less goals and it advanced to the MIAA Postseason Tournament in its first season of eligibility.

Vaninger came to Lindenwood after being a four-year letterwinner at NCAA Division II Quincy. In four seasons, he helped Quincy win 44 games, win one conference championship, and advance to two NCAA Division II National Tournaments. He finished his career with 21 goals and 12 assists and was a two-time all-conference and all-region selection.

Vaninger ended his career by being the leading scorer for the 2012 Hawks team which went 12-2-6. He earned first-team all-conference and second-team all-region honors after that season.

Vaninger graduated from Quincy in December of 2012 with a marketing degree. He is originally from St. Louis and played high school soccer at Christian Brothers College.
