Allie Cherven

Allie Cherven is in her third season in 2014 as a member of the Lindenwood women’s volleyball coaching staff. She is an assistant coach this season after being a graduate assistant coach the last two years.

Cherven has helped the Lindenwood program transition to the NCAA Division II level in her first two years. In 2012, Lindenwood went 15-17 in its first year of NCAA play. Last year, the Lady Lions jumped four spots in the MIAA standings, and had one of the marquee wins in program history with a 3-1 win over nationally-ranked Nebraska-Kearney.

Prior to joining the Lindenwood staff, Cherven spent the 2011 season coaching club for Team Momentum. In 2010, Cherven was an assistant coach for NCAA Division II Missouri-St. Louis Tritons. In her time at Missouri-St. Louis, she helped guide the team to its first NCAA appearance since 1995 along with earning its first AVCA Top 25 National ranking since 1993. That season, the Tritons finished with a 20-9 overall record and had two AVCA All-Regions players, including a First-Team AVCA All-Midwest Region middle hitter.

Cherven began her collegiate career at NCAA Division I University of Pittsburg in the fall of 2005, where she started in 26 matches and led the Panthers with 94 blocks. Cherven then transferred to Truman State University at the start of her sophomore season and helped guide the Bulldogs to an overall record of 105-16, and three postseason appearances in as many seasons. At Truman, she was a three-time All-American as well as a three-time first team all-conference and all-region selection. She finished her career with 1,203 total kills as well as 599 total blocks. Cherven holds the school record at Truman for blocks per set, and is second in block assists.

Cherven, a St. Louis native, attended Francis Howell Central High School and was a three-time first-team all-conference player. She played club volleyball for six years with Team St. Louis, leading them to regional titles each season and was named a Prep Volleyball top 250 Athlete.

Cherven received her master’s degree in school counseling from Lindenwood in 2014.
