Cole Stevenson is entering his seventh season as the head coach of the Lindenwood women’s tennis teams in 2025-26.
In 2024-25, the Lions finished with a record of 5-10, including a 2-3 mark inside the conference. Stevenson coached first team All-Conference selection Fabiana Labrador who was also named OVC Singles Player of the Week after securing the win against IU Indy. The Black and Gold earned the five seed at the OVC Tournament.
During the 2023-24 season, Stevenson led the women's team to an OVC tournament berth, as the Lions finished 7-13, including a 3-3 mark inside conference play. During the year, Lindenwood knocked off Eastern Illinois, Tennessee State, and Western Illinois, on its way to a four seed in the conference tournament. The men's team earned three victories during the year, including a 4-3 win over Southern Indiana in the final match of the season.
In their first NCAA Division I campaign in 2022-23, The men’s tennis team went 5-12 in the spring season, as well as winning eight matches in the ITA regionals in the fall season. The women’s team went 4-11 earning a trip to the OVC tournament. The men's squad finished above .500 at home and pick up Division I victories against Southern Indiana and Eastern Illinois. The women's team picked up its first Division I win, 4-3 over Southern Indiana on March 26.
During the 2021-2022 season, Stevenson led the women's tennis program to an 8-7 record, including a strong 6-3 mark at home, while the men's team finished 6-7 overall and boasted an impressive 6-1 mark in St. Charles. Both teams earned wins over powerhouse Southern Indiana in GLVC play, while the men added a league victory against McKendree and the women versus Missouri-St. Louis. The women also claimed a victory over DI Saint Louis, picking up the program's first win against the Billikens. Five of Stevenson's men's players saw Academic All-GLVC honors, while nine women were also recognized on the prestigious list.
In 2020-21, the women’s team capped off the season with a 5-8 record and the men’s team finished 4-9 under Stevenson. The women’s squad secured their first conference victory of the campaign at Southern Indiana in a 6-1 effort. Stevenson coached Juan Pablo Herrera to the first All-GLVC accolade in program history. In the classroom, the Lions collected ITA All-Academic Team and GLVC Team Academic All-Conference honors, and the men's and women's teams combined for 13 ITA Scholar-Athlete and 15 Academic All-GLVC selections.
In his first season with the Lions in 2019-20, Stevenson led the men’s squad to a 4-2 record with a 3-0 mark in the GLVC, and the women’s team to a 3-3 finish and a 2-1 spot in the conference. The season was shortened, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both the men’s and women’s units earned 2019-20 GEICO Team Academic All-GLVC honors.
Prior to Lindenwood, Stevenson spent six years as the head coach of Missouri Baptist men’s tennis, and four seasons at the helm of the women’s tennis program. In his third season with the men’s squad in 2015-16, Stevenson led the Spartans to their first conference championship in program history. Missouri Baptist qualified for the NAIA National Championships for the first time in school history, after setting a program record with 11 wins. Stevenson placed four players on All-Conference teams, tallied three NAIA Scholar Athletes, and led the squad to a NAIA Scholar Team Award. In 2018, Stevenson was named AMC Coach of the Year as the women’s head coach.
Stevenson transferred to Missouri Baptist as a junior, after spending his first two years at Southeastern University. Stevenson played two years of baseball at Southeastern University, before closing out his collegiate career playing two years of tennis at Missouri Baptist. Stevenson holds a degree in sports management and a master’s in business administration.
