Isaac Akers enters his second season on the Lindenwood football coaching staff and will serve as the Offensive Quality control Assistant.

In his first season in 2024, Akers helped an offense the featured the Big South-OVC Offensive Freshman of the Year in Steve Hall and a second team All-American in Jeff Caldwell. The Lions finished the year averaging an Association best 173.7 rushing yards per game. 

Akers comes to Lindenwood after spending the last two seasons coaching high school football in Southern Illinois during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. In January 2021 Akers made his way down to Kingsville,Texas where he became the Tight Ends Coach at Texas A&M Kingsville University under Head Coach Mike Salinas and Offensive Coordinator Neal LaHue during the 2021 season. The Javelinas finished the season 5-5.  

In 2020 Akers would then transition to Lynchburg. Va. where he served as an Offensive Analyst for the Liberty Flames under Head Coach Hugh Freeze in an offense that averaged 38.2 points per game. The Flames finished the season 10-1 and were back-to-back Cure Bowl Champs.The Flames finished ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press Poll  and No.18 in the coaches poll for the 2020 season.

Previously, Akers joined the staff at Eastern Kentucky University in the spring of 2019 under Head Coach Mark Elder where he served as the assistant Offensive Line Coach alongside Charles Danny Hope. The Colonels finished the season 7-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play. 

His coaching career began in 2018 at Montana Tech University where he assisted with the Tight Ends and Offensive Line under Offensive Coordinator Pete Sterbick and Head Coach Chuck Morrell. The Orediggers finished the season 5-5.

Akers is a 2018 Graduate of Greenville University where he played offensive Line and received his bachelor's degree in Sports Management.Â
