Jen Farrell

Dr. Jen Farrell came to Lindenwood in 2017 as the athletic department's Director of Student-Athlete Mental Health.

Dr. Farrell specializes in the treatment of student-athlete mental health issues as well as providing port psychology services to assist student-athletes in achieving peak performance. She has extensive experience working with collegiate and youth athletes as well as expertise in treating athletes with eating disorders and body image concerns. 
 
Dr. Farrell is a Certified Consultant through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (CC-AASP) and a professional member of the National Alliance of Social Workers in Sport. She has presented at numerous national and international conferences and her research has been featured in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Dr. Farrell earned her Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a MSW from Washington University in St Louis, and a B.A. in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College.
 
Prior to Lindenwood, she provided mental health and sport psychology services at Shattuck-St. Mary's School, an elite college prep boarding school in Minnesota. She also served as an Assistant Professor of Sport and Exercise Psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) while also providing sport psychology services to student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic support staff. She also worked as a performance enhancement specialist for the Victory Program at McCallum Place, a specialized eating disorder treatment program for athletes in St. Louis.
 
Dr. Farrell is also an accomplished athlete, and played college soccer before transitioning to competing in marathons and trail races. In her free time, she loves exploring the outdoors, cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband, Beau, and daughter, Savannah.
