Lindsey Vazquez became the Golden Line head coach in August 2016. She brings over 25 years of performance experience, ten years of choreography experience, and six years of teaching experience to the program.
Vazquez, who is originally from New Orleans and has spent most of her life in Louisiana, began dancing at the age of four and has been doing so continuously since then, starting in the traditional disciplines of tap, jazz, ballet, and lyrical. In high school, she began practicing pom and kick.
She was a dance teacher assistant from 2009 to 2011 at Fusion Performing Arts Center in Metairie, La., and was assistant coach for the Boyet Junior High Rebelettes Dance Team in Slidell, La., in 2015. She became a dance class instructor at Dancescape Studio in Covington, La., in 2012 and continued in that position until her husband's career as a geographer brought her to the St. Louis area in 2016.
Vazquez has several certificates in dance including Dance Teaching from the Fusion Performing Arts Center in 2010. She completed certificates in tap, dance, contemporary, musical theater, and dance health in 2013, 2014, and 2015 at the Pulse Dance Teacher's Workshop. Last season she completed the Dance Educator's Workshop at Broadway Dance Center in New York, NY.
Vazquez received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Communication from the University of South Alabama and is dedicated to supporting her dancers' athletic and academic careers. She resides in O'Fallon, Mo. with her husband Javier and son Henri.
