Nat Hubert will enter his third season as the Lindenwood men’s soccer assistant coach in the Fall of 2026. Hubert was hired on April 12, 2024.
In year two, Hubert helped the Lions to an overall record of 14-3-4 and captured Lindenwood's first regular season and postseason championships in the Division I era. The 14 wins ranked tied for third in the country and was the most wins in a single season for Lindenwood since 2013 when they won 18 games as members of the MIAA at the Division II level. The 2025 season marked the first time since 2013 that the Lions have won an outright regular season championship after winning back-to-back regular season titles in 2012 and 2013. LU also became the first team in Lindenwood’s school history to make an NCAA Division I National Tournament after defeating Houston Christian in the OVC Championship Game via Penalty Kicks 4-2. The Lions went on to face Kansas City in the first round of the NCAA Tournament where they fell by a score of 1-0.
The Lions ranked tied for third in all of the NCAA in 2025 with 12 total shutouts, trailing only Princeton (13) and NC State (14). Their 12 shutouts is the most by any OVC team in the history of the league. They also ranked tied for fourth in the NCAA in goal differential with a +31. LU averaged two goals per game while allowing 0.52 goals per game in 2025. Lindenwood received votes in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll in back-to-back weeks on September 9 (3 votes) and 16 (1 vote). This marks the first time that Lindenwood has appeared in the National polls and received votes for Men's soccer since the start of the Division I era. LU ranked in the top 10 of the North Region in the United Soccer Coaches Poll all season long in 2025 with their highest ranking being 4th. They held the number four spot for four weeks in a row from September 9-30.
Lindenwood had 133 points offensively in 2025, their most in a single season since 2016 (147). Midfielder Matteo Landais finished the season tied for sixth in the country in total assists with nine. The 133 points ranked 11th best in the country. Hubert also coached seven different players from the 2025 squad that were named to the OVC All-Conference teams. Leandro Haesler, Luca Bartoni, and Matteo Landais were named to the All-OVC First Team, while Gavin Roberts and Ethan Blake were named to the All-OVC Second Team. Haelser and Bartoni were also included on the 2025 All-OVC Newcomer Team along with Alander Soares and Gavin Csiszar. Bartoni and Haesler were named the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Forward and Defender of the Year. Bartoni scored two goals and led the league in assists with four during conference play, while Haesler ranked first among defenders in the OVC with 10 total points on the season, and anchored a defense that recorded 12 shutouts during the 2025 campaign.
In his first season with the program in 2024, Lindenwood reached new levels - ranking Top 40 in regular season wins, Top 50 in goals scored in the country and helped guide the program to an 11-6-3 record, up 4 wins from the year previously and one of the best seasons for a team in transition in NCAA D1 Men's Soccer history.
Hubert came to Lindenwood after spending the previous two years at Catawba College as the top Assistant Coach where he helped guide the program to 2 of the most successful seasons in the recent decades. In his first season, Hubert helped guide Catawba to the highest National Ranking in 16 years, only to go one better in his second year and beat the record from the year before.
In 2022, Hubert recruited All-Conference, All-Region and All-Freshman Team players, starting 7 Freshman in the process to a 9-6-2 record, and helped further their development in his second year, leading to 3 All-Region Players and 4 All-Conference Players, both the highest amount of nominations and awards Catawba College have ever been given in the South Atlantic Conference. Overall, the 18-12-4 record that Hubert was a part of during his time at Catawba College was a significant step from the years prior to his arrival, with the winning percentage climbing from .529 in his 2 years compared to .379 in the 10 years prior.
On top of this, Hubert has been the Head Coach of the Raleigh Rebels in the $1,000,000 TST Tournament in Cary, NC in back-to-back summers, making the Sweet 16 in both occasions, beating numerous professional teams along the way. He will be back this Summer representing the Raleigh Rebels in 2025 as well. Furthermore, Hubert was also the Head Coach for C.D. Victoria for their $100,000 Copa Mariachi Win in 2023 on his first attempt, with the team not getting out of the group stage in any of the previous years.
Prior to his arrival at Catawba College, Hubert spent 3 years as the Director of College Recruitment / Head Coach at Tennessee United Soccer Club, where he won 2 State Championships and 1 National Championship. The National Championship was particularly impressive, as the team went 22-0 in National League in the process, winning the first Boys National Championship for the state of Tennessee in their history and beating the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the country on the way to victory in Denver in 2022.
Hubert started Coaching after a four-year career at Belmont University, where he was a starter from 2013-2017, picking up All-Freshman accolades in 2013, and joint top goal-scorer awards in 2014 despite playing as a defender and ended his career with 67 games played. After his collegiate career at Belmont University, where he graduated with his Bachelors in Social Work, Hubert also won a National Championship as a player at the University of Nottingham in 2018, where he assisted both goals in the National Championship whilst graduating with honors in his Master’s Degree in Management.
Before his move to the United States in 2013, Hubert was born in England and came through the Academy Systems of Southampton, Portsmouth, Bristol City and Birmingham. Hubert made his First Team Debut in 2012 at the age of 17 against Premier League team Brighton & Hove Albion for Worthing FC, and made 46 appearances in his first season, winning Young Player of the Year, Young Defender of the Year and become the Youngest Player ever to represent his county, Sussex whilst appearing in the FA Cup and captaining the Youth Team on a run in the FA Youth Cup.
When asked “Why Lindenwood”, Hubert had this to say –
“I think it’s the combination of everything altogether. The program itself is ready to win, and I want to be a part of that. The administration is supportive, the team is ready and the facilities are fantastic. I wouldn’t have taken this job if I didn’t believe I could win here. I’m also ready to be mentored by Coach Bertsch and be surrounded with like-minded winners. On top of this, I love the idea of being in St Charles, minutes away from a huge soccer hotbed that is Saint Louis and continue to grow my network of people in this world and meet new people and enjoy life in the Mid West. At the end of the day, transitioning to Division 1 was always the goal, and I cannot wait to get started and bring success to Lindenwood University”.
Hubert will reside in St Charles with his dog, Thierry.
