Richard Hunt is in his seventh year as an assistant coach for the Lindenwood cheerleading program, having joined the staff in the fall of 2008 as a graduate assistant. In 2011, the squads earned first place in the Co-Ed competition and second place in the All-Girl competition at the 2011 National Cheerleading Association (NCA) Collegiate Nationals in Daytona, Florida.
Prior to joining Lindenwood, Hunt was a member and captain of the cheerleading squad at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he participated in the NCA Collegiate nationals all four years of his college career. He also served as gymnastics coach for the Tiger Academy in Columbia, Missouri while at Mizzou. Before college, Hunt participated as an athlete and coach in sports acrobatics and won several regional and national titles.
In addition to his Lindenwood duties, Hunt currently coaches at Cheer Legendz and has helped the squads there win many national and grand-national championships.
He graduated from Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Fitness and earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Lindenwood University.
