Roy Tippett

Roy Tippett joined the Lindenwood staff in July of 2023. He will serve as the Assistant Athletics Director for Academic Success and Development. 

Tippett comes to Lindenwood after spending the last nine years at his alma mater, Saint Louis University where he was an academic coordinator. In this role, Tippett worked to ensure continuing NCAA academic eligibility for Billiken student-athletes and participated in the administration of tutoring, test proctoring, missed-class coordination, career programming, recognition events and resource referral.

Tippett was a Title IX Care and Concern Advocate for the SLU athletics department. He coaches youth baseball and works with young players each spring through the Jackie Joyner Kersee Foundation.

Before assuming his current position, Tippett was head baseball coach and an adjunct faculty member at Forest Park Community College from 2001-14. He earned American Baseball Coaches Association Region 9 Coach of the Year honors in 2006. From 1999 to 2001, Tippett was group sales director for the River City Rascals minor league baseball team.

Tippett holds a Master of Management degree from Fontbonne University (2008), a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Saint Louis University (1998) and an Associate of Arts degree from Belleville Area College (now Southwestern Illinois College) (1995). A pitcher, he played three seasons on the Billiken baseball team and one season at Belleville Area. As a senior at Belleville West High School, Tippett was the Southwestern Conference Player of the Year. He was a starting pitcher for the minor league Gateway Grizzlies in 2001.

Roy has two children. His son Bobby is a baseball player and his daughter summer loves to act.
