Anna Girdwood joined Lindenwood University in 2010 and currently serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at Lindenwood University, where she oversees all aspects of NCAA compliance for the institution’s intercollegiate athletics programs. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations, while promoting a culture of integrity and education within Lindenwood Athletics.
Girdwood works closely with student-athletes, coaches, and campus partners to provide comprehensive rules education, monitor eligibility and recruiting activities, and manage the department’s compliance systems. She plays a key role in interpreting NCAA legislation, maintaining institutional control, and fostering an environment that supports both competitive success and academic achievement.
Prior to her current title, she served as the Director of Compliance and Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. In 2015, she was the department's Senior Woman Administrator.
Girdwood was previously the head women’s soccer coach at Texas A&M International University from 2005-09. She helped guide the program through the transition from the NAIA to the NCAA Division II level. Her top season came in 2005 when her squad advanced to the Red River Athletic Conference tournament championship game.
Girdwood was also the Interim Senior Women’s Administrator and adjunct professor at the school.
A native of England, Girdwood arrived in the United States in 1998 to work at Ashley's Soccer Camp in New Jersey. She worked at that camp for seven years before resigning to take her first head coaching position.
Girdwood began her collegiate playing career at Montclair State University in 2001. Her playing career ended after one season due to injury but her affiliation with the program would continue for three more years as a student assistant coach. Girdwood helped guide Montclair State to three straight winning seasons, with the Red Hawks reaching the NCAA Division III playoffs for the first time in 2004.
Girdwood graduated with a Bachelor's in Humanities from Montclair State in 2004 and earned a Master’s in Humanities from California State University Dominguez Hills in 2011.
