ESPN, Monday Night Football, & DeDe Dorsey

Former LU All-American tailback DeDe Dorsey will get his chance to shine on national television tonight on Monday Night Football - anyone who has a chance to catch the game on ESPN at 7:00 please tune in and root for our guy!

DeDe has a real chance to make the Bengals as an undrafted rookie free agent.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a big day for the Lindenwood Lion football family, as All-American running back De De Dorsey signed a free agent contract with the Cincinnati Bengals immediately following the conclusion of the NFL first-year player draft.

Dorsey had been on the phone with the Bengals' running back coach throughout the final round of the draft, as they wanted to be sure he was ready to sign with them if they didn't draft him with their final pick.

Dorsey, a Broken Arrow, OK native, rushed for 2,541 yards and scored 27 TD's over the 15 games he played for LU as a tailback in 2004 and 2005 - after earning 1st team All-American honors as a free safety prior to that. He was named a first team All-American at RB after his senior year, and led the Lions to 18 wins in the last two seasons.

"We're very proud of him and all he accomplished during his college career - the Bengals seem to be a good fit because they don't have a great deal of depth at running back, and they have been very high on him all along." --Craig Schuler, Assistant Head Coach
