The McKendree Bearcats' tennis team came calling to the Lindenwood tennis courts on Wednesday and the Lions were just too much. Lindenwood won the dual 8-1, sweeping the doubles and only losing one singles match.
Lindenwood number one doubles duo of
Caio Claudino and
Rodrigo Traldi beat the Bearcats tandem of Danny Gonzalez and Eugeniy Nigmatyahou in a thrilling 9-8 (8-6) win.
Renzo Lau and
Martin Capdeviole won their match against Patrick Rosa and Davi Venditto, 8-3. In the final doubles match the Lions continued to roll when
Mario Cal and
Stephane Dal Soglio won, 8-5.
After the Lions dominated the doubles, the singles was much of the same. Claudino beat Nigmatyahou 6-2, 6-1, Traldo won his match against Gonzalez 6-4, 6-2. Lau, Dal Soglio and Cal also won their matches and the Lions only loss was
Gauthier Schilling who lost in a tie breaker.
The dual win was the Lions second and are now 2-0 in the fall season. Next up for the team will be a trip to the ITA tournament this coming weekend.
