On Thursday, the AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) announced it 2009 NAIA All-America team. For the second consecutive season
Jeff Hynes was named the first team center.
Hynes is the centerpiece of an offensive line that has only allowed 14.5 sacks in 2009. The line has also paved the way for a school record 2,700 yards rushing and has helped the offense set and another school record, 48 touchdowns.
With this year's award Lindenwood is one of 11 current NAIA schools that have had players earn consecutive AFCA All-American's honors. The AFCA has selected an All-America team every year since 1945. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.
