Lady Lions Take Two From Ohio State

The Lindenwood women's ice hockey pushed its conference record to 10-0 with a sweep of Ohio State Sunday morning. For the second straight day, the Lady Lions posted a shutout, winning 7-0.

Brett Lobreau led the way with her first career hat trick. Shea Crawford added a pair of scores, and Janella Brodett and Alexandria Johansson each scored in the victory.

Rebecca Bernet stopped all eight shots she faced to earn her second straight shutout.

On Saturday, Bernet broke her own school of record of nine shutouts, and the Lindenwood women's ice hockey team blanked Ohio State 4-0. The Lady Lions have now posted 12 shutouts on the season, the fourth best mark in program history.

Neither team scored in the first, but Lindenwood broke the game wide open with three scores in the second. Midway through, Mandy Dion scored to give the Lady Lions a 1-0 lead. With just over five minutes remaining in the period, Dion scored a power play goal to stretch the lead to two.

In the closing moments of the period, Lisa Moreau capped the big period with a tally of her own, and Christy Mason added a goal in the third to put the finishing touches on the victory.

Bernet stopped ten shots, collecting her 31st shutout of her career which is also a school record. Mason added a pair of assists as well.

Lindenwood (32-2-2, 10-0) will wrap up the regular season next weekend at home against Northern Michigan.
