The Lindenwood women's ice hockey team completed a two game sweep of Northern Michigan Sunday afternoon, with a 12-0 win at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.
For the second consecutive day, the Lady Lions scored double-digit goals and pitched a shutout defensively. Eight different players scored, led by
Sarah Oliphant 's third hat trick of the season.
Janella Brodett and
Kendra Ganchar both scored twice to fuel the rout.
Ashley Rebeck had a team-high four assists, and
Mandy Dion and
Brett Lobreau both finished with a goal and three assists.
Kayetoinette Stock recorded her second shutout of the season in goal.
The 12 goals marked the eighth time this year that Lindenwood has scored double-digit goals. The win also gave the team its 15th shutout of the season, tied for the most shutouts in a season by any Lindenwood team.
On Saturday, Lindenwood captured the CCWHA regular season conference crown with a 13-0 shutout of Northern Michigan.
Lobreau led the Lady Lions with a hat trick and three assists. Oliphant,
Lisa Moreau, and
Erica Wynn each had two goals apiece. Dion chipped in with a team-high four helpers.
Rebecca Bernet earned the win in goal for the Lady Lions.
Lindenwood (34-2-2, 11-0) will compete as the No. 1 seed in the CCWHA conference tournament next weekend.
