Defense Sets Season Bests In 75-48 Win Over Culver-Stockton

The defense of the Lindenwood men's basketball team set several season bests on Thursday night in Canton, Mo. That unit helped the Lions defeated Culver-Stockton by a 75-48 score.

The 48 points tied the lowest amount allowed by Lindenwood this season, and was the lowest given up in conference play. The Lions held Culver-Stockton to 26.9 percent shooting from the field, the lowest mark by a Lindenwood opponent in 2010-11.

The game was tied early at nine apiece when Lindenwood went on a 10-0 run to take the lead for good. Six of the points in that run came from freshmen Garrett Reeg and Michael Boos. That spurt was the difference in the first half as the Lions led 31-21 at halftime. Lindenwood opened the second half by scoring the first five points and it never looked back from there.

Reeg and Boos led the offense on the night. Reeg had a team-high 16 points on six of eight shooting from the field. Boos finished with 11 points and had three of the team's five three-pointers. Alex Bazzell added 12 points and Kramer Soderberg had 11.

David King led the Lions with 10 rebounds and Reeg finished with eight. The Lions had a 50-27 advantage on the boards. Bazzell and Richard Rose led the team with three assists apiece, and Boos had a team-high two steals.

Lindenwood improves to 19-2 overall and 10-1 in conference play with the win. The Lions will return home on Saturday afternoon for a contest against Baker.
