Both the men and women's swimming team travelled to Monmouth College over the weekend and both teams were victorious. The men beat the Fighting Scots 130-66 while the women scored the highest total point total out of Monmouth and Robert Morris.
The meet started off well for both the men and the women winning the 200 yard medley relay. That would not be the only win for both teams. Leading the way for the men was Manuel Yabar Alonso, who won both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle.
Ivan Ivancic, Stweart Bush, Dale Hart, Greg Becker, and Nash Pavicheviki all finished on top of the podium also . Ivancic won the 200 yard individual medley, Hart finished tops in the 500 yard freestyle, Pavicheviki won the 100 yard breaststroke, Becker finished in first in the 100 yard backstroke, and Bush recorded the fastest time in the 100 yard butterfly.
On the women's side, Briana Preiss won two events to lead the Lady Lions. Preiss won the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. Megan Emig was also victorious in the 100 yard freestyle and Tiffany Oskvarek won the 50 yard freestyle.
Up next for both the women and the men is the Washington University Invitational on January 14th.
