Women's Hockey Falls To Future Conference Rival

The Lindenwood women's hockey team was introduced as a member of College Hockey America, and then took on one of the CHA members, Robert Morris, on Saturday evening at the Lindenwood Ice Arena. The Lady Lions were tied after one period but lost 6-2.

Power plays were the difference in the contest. Lindenwood was one-of-five, compared to four-of-six for the Colonials. Two of those power-plays goals were a part of a three-goal second period for Robert Morris which turned a tie game into a 5-2 contest. Robert Morris then added its sixth goal early in the third period and neither team scored for the remainder of the game.

Lindenwood trailed 2-0 after 10 minutes after allowing two early power-play goals. Lindenwood fought back though, starting with an Allysson Arcibal goal at the 10:42 mark of the first period. Alison Wickenheiser assisted on that goal and then scored a power-play goal late in the period. Arcibal and Brett Lobreau assisted on that tally.

The Lady Lions fall to 1-13-0 on the season. The same two teams will meet again on Sunday afternoon at noon in Wentzville, Mo.
