The Lindenwood swimming and diving team fell to Missouri State on Friday in Springfield, Mo. The men's team finished with a score of 88 while the women's team had an overall score of 80.
Placing highest on the men's side were
Javier Hernandez and
Ramunas Paknys with Hernandez placing first in the 200 yard butterfly and Paknys in the 200 yard backstroke in 1:50.39.
Gilad Brunfman also recorded third in the 200 yard butterfly. Other Lions who placed were
Uba Zavaleta placing second in the individual medley,
Victor Munoz recording a second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle and
Yannis Chader finishing third in the 200 yard freestyle.
Leading the women's side were
Ashlan Higgins who placed second in the 200 yard freestyle, followed by
Ashton Friedley,
Briana Preiss and
Therese Klockare in the same event. Preiss also recorded a second place finish in the 200 yard backstroke while Higgins placed third in the 100 yard freestyle.
The men's and women's swimming and diving team will travel to Chicago, Ill., for the University of Chicago Invitational from Nov. 18-21.
