The Lady Lions ice hockey team shut out Wisconsin 3-0 on Sunday afternoon in Madison.
All the scoring came in the second period of play.
Allysson Arcibal got things started about midway through the period, netting the first Lindenwood goal. Then,
Samantha Redick scored two goals to give the Lady Lions a comfortable lead, and that was how the game ended.
Rebecca Bernet stopped all seven shots she faced for the shutout in goal. Lindenwood outshot the Badgers by a 38-7 margin.
On Saturday, the Lady Lions beat Wisconsin 5-0 in the first game of the series.
There was no scoring in the opening period of the game. In the second period,
Kali Frederick put away the first goal of the contest. Three minutes later,
Ashley Rebeck added to the Lions' lead, followed by a
Lisa Moreau score.
Up 3-0 coming out of the second intermission, Lindenwood put up two more unanswered goals in the final period.
Brett Lobreau and
Krystal Martin were the two Lady Lion scorers.
Lindenwood outshot the Badgers by a 43-14 margin.
The Lady Lions now look forward to the ACHA National Tournament, which begins March 10th in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
