The Lindenwood wrestling team fell to Grand View this weekend as it competed at the Sisam Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. The Lions were defeated by a final score of 36-10.
 
Several Lions were victorious but the overall scores swayed in the Vikings favor. Blayne Shockley, Daniel Breit and Clayton Macfarlane were the only victorious Lions during the meet. Shockley defeated Ali Mohammed 6-3 by decision while Breit won by major decision 14-5. Macfarlane won by a stellar overtime decision of 5-3 in the 174 pound weight class.
 
Jacob Janes and Craig Chiles both fell by decision along with Kyle Webb and Mason Ridenhour falling to the Vikings. Finally, Viking wrestler Eric Thompson defeated Lindenwood's Austin Garza by pin-fall in the heavyweight division.
 
The wrestling team will be back in action when they travel to Marshall, Mo., for the Missouri Valley Invitational. The meet time is set to begin at 9 a.m.
