Lions Roll to a Victory Over Webster

Box Score The Lindenwood men's basketball team rolled to its 19th win of the season on Monday night against the Webster University Gorloks 78-57 at the Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

It didn't take the Lions long to jump out to a big lead. At the nine minute mark of the opening half, Lindenwood already had the lead up to 11. The advantage got as high as 15 in the first half, and the Lions led 42-30 as the teams headed into the locker rooms.

The lead grew quickly in the final half as Lindenwood went on a 15-6 run to extend the lead to 21. Webster cut the lead to 18 at one point but did not get any closer. The Gorlocks shot just 29 percent in the second half and fell to the home team.

The Lions shot 46 percent from the field, 38 percent from behind the three point line, and 90 percent from the free throw line. The Lions were outrebounded 41-37, which was only the second time this year that has happened. Lindenwood forced Webster into 15 turnovers while the Lions racked up 22 assists, and a season-high six blocks.

The Lions were led offensively by a trio of 14 point scorers. Garrett Reeg, Kramer Soderberg, and Michael Boos all scored 14. Tyler Ressel chipped in with 12 and Efkan Eren led the team with nine rebounds. Alex Bazzell led the Lions with a career-high eight assists.

With the win the Lions improve to 19-2 and have won three straight games. Up next for Lindenwood will be a road game against the McKendree Bearcats on Wednesday night.
