Men's Swimming & Diving (Discontinued)

Swimming and Diving Wins Panther Invitational

The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams competed at the Panther Invitational this Saturday afternoon at Principia College. Both teams placed first in their divisions with the men's team recording 542 points and the women posting 470. 
 
On the women's side, the Lady Lions had a record setting weekend. Storrie Cramer posted the second fastest women's 100 yard breaststroke record in Lindenwood history finishing in 1:06. Cramer also placed second in the 100 yard butterfly. Stephanie Heutel and Kelsey Hutton recorded the top two seeds in the 200 yard freestyle while Briana Preiss, Therese Klockare and Tiffany Osvarek finished in the top three of the 100 yard backstroke.

Other Lady Lions included MacKenzie Porter and Ashton Friedly placing first and second in the 50 yard freestyle. Ashlan Higgins placed first in the 100 yard freestyle as well as the 100 yard butterfly.

The Lions had a successful outing as well with multiple swimmers finishing as the top seeds. Ramunas Paknys placed first in the 200 yard freestyle followed by Uba Zavaleta finishing in second with a 1:46 time. Paknys also finished first in the 100 yard freestyle in 46.87.

Ivars Akmentins recorded a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke as well as the 50 yard freestyle. Diego Banda and Cody Friedhoff finished shortly after Akmentins to finish in the top three. Friedhoff placed second in the 100 yard butterfly as well. Javier Hernandez placed second in the 100 yard backstroke while Gilad Brunfman had a 51.34 finish to place first in the 100 yard butterfly.

The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to Elsah, Ill., to compete in the Liberal Arts Invitational from Feb. 16-18. Meet time is set for 9 a.m.
