The Lindenwood men's and women's swimming and diving teams had its home opener Saturday with a dual meet against Truman State. The men's team easily defeated Truman State 179-57, while the Lady Lions fell by a score of 128-103.
Uba Zavaleta performed well for the men, winning first-place in the 500-yard freestyle, the 1000-yard freestyle, and the 400-yard IM. The Lindenwood men also took home first-place awards in both relays, the 200-yard medley and the 200-yard freestyle.
Nufar Zilber was the top performer for the women's team. She won the 50-yard freestyle, earned second place in the 100-yard freestyle, and helped her relay team to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
David Cochran and
Michelle Bell each finished first in the one-meter and three-meter dives for the diving team.
The swimming and diving teams compete again on Oct. 27
th in a home meet with Saint Louis University, Missouri S&T, and William Jewell College.
