Box Score The Lindenwood women's hockey team continues to struggle offensively as it fell on Friday afternoon by a 2-0 score against St. Cloud State.
The only goal for the first 50 minutes of the game came in the first period when St. Cloud State scored an even-strength goal at the 15:17 mark. After being dominated in shots during the first period, Lindenwood began to narrow that advantage in the second and third periods. Midway through the third period, though, penalties got Lindenwood in trouble. The Huskies went on a five-and-three power play and scored the final goal of the game at the 12:58 mark.
St. Cloud State had a 46-21 advantage in shots in the contest.
Nicole Hensley stopped 95.7 percent of the shots she faced for Lindenwood, while St. Cloud State's Julie Friend made 21 saves in earning the shutout.
Alison Wickenheiser led Lindenwood with five shots on goal, two more than
Lyndsay Kirkham and
Jocelyn Slattery.
The Lady Lions fall to 0-9-0 on the season. Lindenwood and St. Cloud State will complete the series on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
