Tennis Begins Florida Road Trip

The Lindenwood men's and women's tennis teams were shut out by Saint Leo on Sunday afternoon at the Saint Leo Tennis Center. Both teams were swept 3-0 in doubles competition along with falling in the remaining matches.
 
The Lions struggled against Saint Leo in the singles division with Eric Tucoulou losing 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 1 match and Gauthier Schilling falling 6-1, 6-1 in the second match. Nicolas Vettard was downed 6-1, 7-5 along with Rahul Sadhwani losing 6-5, 6-2 and Octavio Costa fell 6-2, 6-0 to Saint Leo. The men's team was blanked in all three matches of the doubles division.
 
On the women's side, the team of Adela Slovakova and Mariona Pinol led the way in doubles winning the only three sets of the division. The Lady Lions were also swept in singles competition with Slovakova shut out in the No. 1 match while Pinol recorded the only close contest with a 6-1, 6-3 score in the No. 2 match.
 
The Lindenwood tennis team will continue their Florida road trip as they travel to Orlando tomorrow. The men's team will battle Pacific while the Lady Lions take on George Fox. Both matches are set to begin at 12 p.m.
