The Lindenwood tennis teams split their matches on Monday as the men's team defeated Pacific by a 6-3 score while the women's team lost 7-2 against George Fox.
Opening in the doubles competition, the Lions were able to capture two of the three contests. Thiago Mastroianni and
Eric Tucoulou struck first with the win while the duo of
Gauthier Schilling and
Rahul Sadhwani were victorious in the third match. In the singles division, Tucoulou won the No. 1 match, followed by Schilling and Mastroianni both winning and
William Hale concluded the day with a win in the No. 6 match.
The Lady Lions lost their match to George Fox by a 7-2 score. For the second straight day, the women's team was shut out in the doubles division but found success in singles competition.
Mariona Pinol blanked her opponent in the No.2 match with a 6-0, 6-0 score and
Shreeja Karki concluded the No. 6 match by a scoreof 7-5, 4-6 and 1-0.
The men's and women's tennis teams continue their Florida road trip as it heads to Lakeland to take on Florida Southern College on Tues., March 27. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
