Swimming and Diving Concludes Season at USA Region 8 Sectionals

The Lindenwood swimming and diving program wrapped up their 2011-2012 season with a meet at the USA Region 8 Sectionals. The program combined for an overall fourth place finish with 376.5 points with the men finishing in second and women in 25th.
 
The majority of the swimmers competed belonged to the men's team where Ramunas Paknys and Javier Hernandez had the best showings. Paknys finished second in the 100 meter backstroke and fifth in the 200 meter backstroke. Hernandez finished second in the 200 meter butterfly in front of Gilad Brunfman who placed fifth in the same event and Yannis Chader in eighth.
 
Brunfman also posted a fourth place win in the 100 meter butterfly while Ivars Akmentins recorded a third place finish in the 50 meter freestyle and fourth in the 100 meter freestyle followed by Reinis Rozensteins in seventh place.
 
Along with his seventh place finish, Rozensteins placed fifth in the 100 meter breaststroke. Finally, Ubaldo Zavaleta finished fifth in both the 200 and 400 meter freestyle.
 
The lone swimmer for the women's team was Storrie Cramer who concluded the season with an 11th place finish in the 100 meter breaststroke.
