Men's rugby traveled to Oklahoma for a game against the Tulsa Men's Club and came away with a 71-33 victory on Saturday.
The Lions were led by Tyler Black and Trevor Locke in the first half as they combined to carry a majority of the work load on offense to help open up a 38-14 by halftime. In the second half, Stephen Duff took over at halfback and became a force for Lindenwood, setting up two scores and breaking a 70 meter run for what was his second try of the day. By the end of the game, Duff was the leading scorer for the Lions with 20 points.
The game against the Tulsa Men's Club was the final tune-up for the Lions as they now focus on the USA Rugby Division II Sweet 16 in Madison, Wis. April 28-29. Lindenwood is the top seed in the country and will face the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday. A win in that game and a win on Sunday would vault the Lions into the USA Rugby Final Four tournament in May.
