Storylines
- The Lindenwood football team plays the first Friday night game in program history this week. The Lions host Glenville State at 7 p.m. at Hunter Stadium in their only non-conference game of the season.
- Head coach
Patrick Ross will be coaching his 100th game at Lindenwood on Friday evening. The all-time winningest coach at the school currently has a 76-23 record as a Lion.
- Lindenwood is looking to bounce back after its first loss of the season last Saturday. The Lions fell to Central Missouri by a 35-28 margin with the Mules scoring the game-winning touchdown with just over three minutes remaining in the game.

Denodus O'Bryant scored the 51st touchdown of his career against Central Missouri with a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown. He has now scored in seven straight games, and for his career, has scored at least one touchdown in 29 of 33 games.

Pierre Desir has recorded third interceptions over the last two games. He is the only player in the MIAA to pick off three passes through the first three games of the season, and he also leads the conference with six passes defended.

Malach Radigan was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team on Tuesday. He is the second Lion to earn the national community service award over the last three years.

Matt Angell has caught a touchdown pass in every game this season and is tied for the team-high with three touchdown receptions. He is second with 13 receptions and third with 196 receiving yards.
- Glenville State is 1-2 on the season, including a 35-0 loss last week at NCAA Division I UT-Chattanooga. Other results include a 56-46 loss at Carson-Newman and a 41-21 victory at home over Fairmont State.
- Lindenwood and Glenville State will be meeting for the first time. In fact, the Lions will be playing their first game against a member of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
Lions Offense
- Lindenwood ranks fifth in the MIAA in scoring offense (37.3 ppg) and seventh in total offense (391.0). The Lions are fourth in pass offense, but just 13th rushing offense.

Denodus O'Bryant had the longest touchdown of his career last week with a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown. Thirty of his career 51 touchdowns have been 30 yards or longer, including 13 of 70 yards or longer.
- Lindenwood has three wide receivers in the top-10 in the MIAA in receiving yards per game. The trio of
Andrew Helmick,
Matt Angell, and
Alex Robinson have combined for 38 catches for 604 yards and six touchdowns.

Andrew Helmick became the sixth player in Lindenwood history with 100 career receptions last week. He has 101 now as a Lion.

Ben Gomez is averaging just over 300 passing yards a game and has eight passing touchdowns in 2012.
Lions Defense
- Lindenwood's defense is eighth in the MIAA in scoring defense (25.7 ppg) and sixth in total defense (321.3). The Lions are fourth in rushing defense and seventh in pass defense.
- The Lions are tied for the conference lead this week with 12 sacks on the season. Lindenwood has also recorded 27 tackles for loss.

Connor Harris continued his trend of leading the Lions in tackles every game this season. He and
Jaz Granderson both had nine last week.
- Lindenwood is second in the MIAA by allowing opponents to just a 30.6 success percentage on third-downs.
nLindenwood has forced seven turnovers, tying for the fifth-best mark in the MIAA. The Lions have two fumble recoveries and five interceptions.
Lions Special Teams

James Neal is a perfect 14-of-14 on the season on PATs, and two-of-two on field goals. He is the only MIAA kicker who has not missed a kick.

Edward Burns is averaging 37.5 yards on 13 punt attempts, and he has two inside the 20.
Lions Schedule
- Lindenwood ends its long four-game homestand on Sept. 28 with an afternoon contest against Nebraska-Kearney.
About Glenville State
- Glenville State is averaging 43.5 points a game against NCAA Division II competition, and allowing 38.5 points in those two games.
- The wide receiver duo of Orlandus Harris and Robert Jiles both average over 70 receiving yards a game and had a combined eight touchdowns.
- Terry Reese is the all-around leader for the Pioneers with 29 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and three pass breakups.
MIAA Notes
- This week's conference players of the week were: Tyler Eckenrode, Emporia State (offense), Latavius Davis, Central Missouri (defense), and Devon Connors, Washburn (special teams).
- Four MIAA schools are nationally ranked by the AFCA: Pittsburg State (No. 1), Missouri Western (No. 7), Washburn (No. 9), and Northwest Missouri (No. 12). Central Missouri and Emporia State are receiving votes.
