Lions Dominate in Last Non-Conference Game of the Season

Box Score Five separate Lindenwood Lions either tied or broke career-highs in a 96-65 win over the Webster Gorloks on Wednesday night in St. Charles, Mo.

Richie Thompson scored a career-high 15 points while Brett Thompson tied his career-high with 24 points. Aaron Ramirez matched his high point total with nine and also blocked a career-high three shots. Efkan Eren grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds and Darris Smith dished out a career-high seven assists.

Webster led for the first two minutes of the game then Lindenwood never surrendered the advantage for the rest of the contest.   

It took just nine minutes for the Lions to increase their lead to double digits and went into the locker room with a 22-point advantage. Lindenwood dominated the play in the paint in the first half outscoring the Gorloks 26-16.

The second half started with the visitors getting within 17 points but then the Lions went on a 24-5 run over a minute span to extend the lead to a game-high 36 points.

Lindenwood shot 58 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the three point line. The Lions dominated the glass outrebounding Webster 42-20. As a team, Lindenwood had 24 assists to just 13 turnovers.

With the win the Lions improve to 7-3 and have now won three games in a row. Lindenwood will next return to MIAA play on Saturday when the Truman Bulldogs come to the Hyland Arena for a tip at 3 p.m.
