The Lady Lions hockey team remained winless on the season after Minnesota State finished off a two-game sweep on Saturday afternoon. The Mavericks defeated Lindenwood by a 3-1 score.

Minnesota State scored one goal in each period. Lindenwood's only goal came in the second period when it was already down 2-0. Alyssa West scored the goal. Carrie Atkinson and Saville Pickar each picked up their first collegiate points with assists on the goal.

The Mavericks outshot Lindenwood 37-18, but Nicole Hensley made 34 saves to keep the game close. Neither team was able to score a power-play goal in limited chances.

Lindenwood falls to 0-5-1 on the season. The Lady Lions begin a four-game road stretch next weekend at Bemidji State.
