The Lindenwood roller hockey gold team posted a 3-0 record in the first weekend of competition October 19-20 at The Wheel in Wright City, Mo. All three games were played against Division II opponents.

The team defeated Missouri State in the first game of the weekend 6-4. Goaltender Brennen Sowa recorded his first win of the 2013-14 season between the pipes for the Lions.

On Sunday, the Lions defeated Illinois State 4-3. Spenser Marquiss scored a goal and recorded an assist to lead the team while Charles Robinson stopped 14 of 17 shots in net for Lindenwood.

In the second game of the day, Lindenwood earned a 5-3 win against the University of Missouri. Sowa was again impressive in net for the Lions, stopping 17 of 20 shots in the win. Adam Dowling netted two goals and had an assist.

The Lions have a few weeks off before the team plays St. Louis Community College, Illinois, and St. Charles Community College on November 10. The puck drops at 12:00 p.m. at The Wheel in Wright City, Mo.
