Box Score The Lindenwood women's hockey team did not have the depth to keep up with nationally-ranked North Dakota in the final game of their series on Saturday night. The Lady Lions fell in Grand Forks, N.D. by a 6-1 margin.
North Dakota dominated possession in the game and had a 75-9 advantage in shots. It scored three times in the second period to take a 4-1 lead, and then added two insurance goals in the final period. Most of the goals came against Lindenwood's lower lines as the Lady Lions were missing two of their top forwards due to injuries.
Lindenwood's lone goal came in the second period when captain
Alyssa West scored her first goal of the season with an assist from
Kendra Broad. West and
Chelsea Witwicke both finished with a +1 plus/minus for the game.
Nicole Hensley made 69 saves in goal, a new career-high for her in a regulation game.
Lindenwood falls to 0-3-1 on the season. The Lady Lions return home next weekend for a two-game series against Minnesota State.
