Women's Hockey Loses Series Finale With Penn State

Box Score postgame quotes (video)

The Lindenwood women's ice hockey team fell to Penn State in College Hockey America action on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Lions lost at home to the Nittany Lions by a 4-1 margin.

Penn State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 24:15 of the game after several mistakes by the Lindenwood defense. Those included two costly turnovers on Lindenwood's side of the ice that Penn State was able to turn into quick goals.

Lindenwood got one goal back late in the second period when Kendra Broad scored off an assist from Jocelyn Slattery. That was as close as the Lady Lions would get though as Penn State scored a power-play goal in the third period to put the game out of reach.

The Lady Lions outshot Penn State 37-31. Penn State was one-for-four on the power play and Lindenwood was scoreless in three power-play opportunities.

Lindenwood is off next weekend. It will return to the ice on Dec. 6-7 with a two-game series at Syracuse.
