Women's Hockey and Orange Meet In Syracuse

Series Notes
- The Lindenwood hockey team returns to the ice this weekend after taking just its second weekend off this season. The Lady Lions will travel to Syracuse for a two-game series against the Orange.

- Lindenwood enters play this week with a 1-13-2 overall record, while Syracuse is 7-7-2. The Orange are in fourth place in the CHA standings with a 2-2-2 mark, one spot ahead of Lindenwood and its 1-4-1 league record.

- The Lady Lions are 1-5-0 all-time against Syracuse, including a 1-3-0 mark in CHA games.

- Lindenwood is 1-3-0 in games against the Orange that are played in New York. Two of those games were decided in overtime.

- Last season, Syracuse won three of the four games against Lindenwood. The Orange swept the series in Wentzville, before the two teams split the series in Syracuse.

- Lindenwood picked up its biggest win since moving to the NCAA level last year at Tennity Ice Pavillion by a 2-1 margin. The Lady Lions and Syracuse went into overtime on Feb. 26. At the 1:05 mark in overtime, Caitlyn Post scored the game-winner, with assists from Kendra Broad and Lyndsay Kirkham.

- Goalie Nicole Hensley is 1-1-0 against Syracuse. She has a 2.48 GAA and a .940 save percentage.

- Among active players, Kendra Broad and Caitlyn Post lead Lindenwood's scoring against Syracuse with two goals and three points apiece. Lyndsay Kirkham has a program-best two assists against Syracuse.

- Syracuse is 3-3-1 at home this season. Every loss and tie were against teams that are currently nationally-ranked. Lindenwood is 0-8-0 on the road in 2013-14.

A Look Back At Penn State
- Lindenwood split a series with Penn State back on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23 at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.

- Lindenwood allowed an early goal in game one but kept the Nittany Lions off the board for the final 57:22 in a 2-1 win.

- Penn State scored another early goal in game two of the series and this time added three more in a 4-1 victory.

- Jocelyn Slattery and Kendra Broad both had one goal and one assist in the series. Slattery scored the game-winner in game one with Broad getting an assists for that goal.

- Nicole Hensley had a 2.50 GAA and a .907 save percentage for the series.

- Lindenwood outshot Penn State in both games, the first time this season the Lady Lions have outshot an opponent. Lindenwood averaged 36.0 shots a game, compared to 27.0 for Penn State.

- Lindenwood was 0-for-five on the power play against Penn State, while the Nittany Lions were one-for-eight with a man advantage.

Lindenwood Notes
- Jocelyn Slattery has been Lindenwood's top player this season. She enters play this week riding a four-game point streak. She has a +3 plus/minus in that span, and is a +2 on the season. Slattery leads the team with five goals in 2013-14.

- Kendra Broad has scored a point in three out of the last four games. She leads the team this season with five assists and eight points.

- Nicole Hensley has started all 16 games this season in goal, and has been in net for nearly 93 percent of the team's minutes.

- Leah Elledge recorded her first collegiate point with an assist in game one versus Penn State. That game was also her first contest with positive plus/minus.

- Kendra Broad is now the only Lindenwood player to appear in all 81 games during the program's NCAA era. Megan Cox, Katie Erickson, and Jordyn Constance are tied for second with 79 games.

- Lindenwood is looking to improve its road play this weekend, especially on defense. The Lady Lions are allowing 4.4 goals a game on the road, compared to 2.9 goals a game at home.

- Lindenwood set a season-high in shots with 35 in game one against Penn State, and then broke that mark with 37 the next day. The Lady Lions also allowed a season-low 23 shots in game one of that series.

- The Lady Lions are 8-2-2 all-time, including a 1-1-1 mark this season, when allowing less than 30 shots. The team is 8-58-3 all-time, and 0-12-1 this year, when allowing 30 or more shots.

- Lindenwood's win in game one against Penn State was just its third win in 43 games when it trailed after one period.

College Hockey America Notes
- One CHA team, Robert Morris, is nationally-ranked. The Colonials are No. 10 in both national polls. Mercyhurst is receiving votes in both rankings.

- Robert Morris currently leads the CHA with a 6-1-1 record. RIT is second with a 4-1-1 mark.

- The CHA Players of the Week are: Robert Morris' Brittany Howard (Player of the Week), Mercyhurst's Amanda Makela (Goalie of the Week), and Syracuse's Heather Schwarz (Rookie of the Week).

About Syracuse
- Syracuse is .500 both overall and in conference play.

- The Orange are just 1-3-2 over their last six contests.

- Syracuse is avearging 2.4 goals a game and allowing 2.3 goals a contest.

- The Orange are scoring on power-plays 16.8 percent of the time, and allowing goals on 12.3 percent of opponents' power plays.

- Nicole Renault leads the team with 10 assists and 12 points. Jessica Sibley and Nicole Ferrara both have a team-high six goals.

- The top goalie for the Orange is Kallie Billadeau. She has a 2.24 GAA and a .931 save percentage.

- Head coach of Penn State is Paul Flanagan. Flanagan has won 308 games in his career, just the sixth active coach to hit that mark, and 78 games at Syracuse.
