The Lindenwood gymnastics team fell to Missouri on Sunday afternoon in the team's only exhibition meet of the preseason. The Lady Lions, competing without their full lineup, recorded a score of 179.55, compared to the Tigers' 191.95.
Lindenwood's top event was on the balance beam in which it recorded a team score of 48.80, defeating Missouri by 0.05. Five gymnasts recorded a meet high 9.8 including Lindenwood's
Valeri Ingui,
Courtney Heise, and
Emily Turik.
On the vault and bars, the Lady Lions finished less than a point behind the Tigers. On the vault, Lindenwood had a score of 47.85, led by Ajiea Hargrave with a 9.70. The Lady Lions had a score of 46.40 on the bars, led by
Katie Kuehl with a 9.60.
Lindenwood's lowest scores came on the floor where it had a 36.50.
Rachel Zabawa had a team-high 9.40 on the floor. The only Lindenwood player to qualify for the all-around scores was Turik. She finished second out of three gymnasts with a 37.65.
Lindenwood begins its regular season on Jan. 11 at the University of Minnesota.
