ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Nya Kraus from Lindenwood gymnastics competed at the NCAA Regionals on Thursday in the second session at the regional in Ann Arbor, Michigan which is the home of the University of Michigan.

"We are so proud of the way Nya represented us and our program today," said head coach Catelyn Branson. "She had the toughest job of the meet to do one event and be the very last person of the day, and she did it beautifully."

Kraus, the lone competitor for Lindenwood on Thursday, qualified for beam this season. She finished with a score of 9.700 which ranked 47th during the session which included teams such as Alabama, Penn State, NC State and more.

"It was such an honor to compete at Regionals and to make it this far," said Kraus. "I just took everything day by day and enjoyed every moment."

During her sophomore season, Kraus posted a 9.900 three times on beam including at the Midwest Independence Conference Championships. Her average score on beam was a 9.768 and has a NQS of 9.880.

Overall this season on beam, Kraus has two first places, two top three finishes including a second place score of 9.900 at the Mizzou to the Lou meet and seven top five finishes.

Kraus and the rest of the Lindenwood gymnastics team will compete at the USAG Championships starting on Friday, April 12th in West Chester, Pennsylvania. For more information go to lindenwoodlions.com.
