The Lindenwood men's golf team finished second at the Arch Cup hosted by the University-Missouri St. Louis at Norwood Hills CC on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions shot a team total of 592, the lowest among the four participating schools. However, the tournament was based on match-play as opposed to stroke-play. Lindenwood won its first round against Maryville 6-4 before falling in the championship round to UMSL 5-2.
Lindenwood was led by Jake Smock who earned low score honors for the tournament. He shot a 71 in round one, Â best among all golfers. He followed that up with a three-under 68 in round two for a total of 139.Â
Greg MacAulay shot a 146 and Tyler McKay shot a 149 to aid the team to second place.
Next up for Lindenwood is the UNK Fall Invitational, hosted by Nebraska-Kearney, on September 9-10.
