The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams finished their regular seasons on Saturday at NCAA Division I Missouri State. The Lions finished second out of three teams, while the Lady Lions lost a dual to the Bears.
Alecia McGillivray led the Lindenwood swimmers on the day. She had the only event win by being victorious in the 200 free, and she was also runner-up in the 200 back. The women's team had four other runner-up finishes. Those second-place finishers were
Shelby Werkema in the 1m dive,
Hannah Vinyard in the 200 fly, Maike Tweesmann in the 100 free, and
Kyleigh Troxel in the 500 free.
The men's team was led by
Sylwester Borowicz-Skoneczny who finished runner-up in both the 500 free and 1000 free events. Other second-place finishes went to
Gustavo Silva Santa in the 200 free,
Cody Friedhoff in the 100 free,
Ramunas Paknys in the 200 back, and
Mateusz Pacholczyk in the 200 breast.
The women's swimming and diving team will compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships on Feb. 6-9 in Rochester, Minn. The men's swimming and diving team will have its conference meet on Feb. 19-22 at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championship.
