The Lindenwood wrestling team fell to No. 5 Central Oklahoma 19-18 on Saturday.

The Lions would face five ranked wrestlers including three Bronchos who are ranked atop their respective weight class. Marco Tamayo led off the day with a 5-3 decision victory in the 125 match. Matt Katusin lost to No. 5 Casy Rowell by major decision.

Terrell Wilbourn had a strong match with No. 1 Jordan Basks in a 3-1 loss and Morgan Fitzgerald wrestled tough in a 2-0 loss to No. 1 Chris Watson. Derrick Weller fell to No. 1 Cory Dauphin I the 157 weight class.

With the Lions trailing 19-6 they had three matches remaining but could not score enough point to complete a comeback victory. Steven Butler ended the day with a pin over No. 8 Cody Dauphin.

The Lions will return home on Wednesday at 7 in Hyland Arena. Lindenwood will host No. 4 Nebraska-Kearney.
